Maria Lohmann

Maria is originally from Copenhagen, but trained in the UK, and then worked there as and
actor and facilitator for over 6 years.

After completing her acting training, specialising in Meisner technique, at the
internationally renowned Italia Conti Academy, London in 2006, she worked for several
years in theatres in both the UK and on tours throughout Europe.

Amongst other roles she has played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in Verona, Death in a
modern touring adaptation of the classic play Everyman, and all the roles in the one-
woman crime mystery Finding Sophie.

She returned to Copenhagen and founded the touring theatre
company FasterPussycat, which has played Bådteater, CPH Stage Festival, and toured
around Denmark with English language new writing.

Maria has extensive experience in facilitating drama workshops for young people as well
as adults. She has directed and devised several plays with the Mercury Theatre,
Colchester, Mad Half Hour Theatre Company, and Ung Scene KBH here in Denmark.

She co-runs an education programme for Gymnasier called "Shakespeare Out Loud" which
introduces students to theatre classics in English, through practical, fun and dynamic
drama workshops.
